Merle Hay Mall Pennant
I grew up within a couple of miles of Merle Hay Mall until I left for school. I remembered the highlight of a trip to the Mall was being able to play on the "tricycle man" As I got a little older it was still a treat to see a naked, winged man and wonder how the hell they allowed him in the mall. I mean he was naked and kids were playing on him. Literally riding the back of his tricycle and sticking their fingers in his mouth. He was a weird background fixture in my life as I grew form a kid running down the ramps to a teenage mallrat with my friends visiting a couple of times a week to hit up one of the 3 record stores and the sales rack at the Gap.
Later I noticed that he was gone. Just disappeared and I wondered what happened. Luckily the internet came around and let me know the history of "the naked statue at the Mall" and what had happened to him. He is a link to it and it also mentions the artist Mark Jacobsen.

Who knew it wasn't titled Naked Guy with Wings on a Tricycle. It is actually called Up Down.
Who knew...
